Adding Content to the Access Denied Pages

The pages displayed when you have a application, invite only, or password protected board or forum have hard-coded messages assigned to them which provides basic information to the user on why they have no access and if there is a way for them to gain access. This hack/trick allows you to add additional comments to those pages to let others know what you are looking for before they are granted access to the board or those private areas.

Step one:
Go to Control Panel :: Board management :: Customize the language set and once there you want to add this:

<style type="text/css"><!-- .application {display:none;} --></style>

To the beginning of the following three entries:
misc_support_link
memberlist_link_back_to_board
search_link_back_to_board

Step two:
Go to Control Panel :: Board management :: Edit colors and theme :: CSS management and add this to your custom CSS:
.application {display: block; width:50%; margin: 1% auto; padding:3px; border: 3px double; border-color: #ddd #bbb #bbb #ddd; background: #f9f9f9; text-decoration:none; color:#000;}

Step three:
Go to Control Panel :: Board management :: Edit colors and theme :: HTML management and add this to your custom HTML (I suggest you add it to the custom HTML header but it works in both places):
<div class="application">My added content test message</div>

Congratulations, you now have a basic text box on those pages that you can personalize for your own boards requirements.

NOTES:
The application classname can be changed to whatever you want.
The CSS for the box can be changed, the code provided is for a basic box with a double-lined border.
The message can be anything you want.

edited to add additional changes needed to make this work transparently as possible

Small problem with this, maybe something I have done. Not sure. So help please.
What I wrote is showing up in other places too. Like in the member list, and also when I subscribe to a thread. emoticon

Those are pages displayed without the RB Support link showing so you did nothing wrong. I totally forgot about those so its my bad.

To stop the custom message from showing up in the "members list" and "search list" go to Control Panel :: Board management :: Customize the language set

When you get there you want to add:

<style type="text/css"><!-- .application {display:none;} --></style>

To the end of the memberlist_link_back_to_board and the search_link_back_to_board entries (they are close to the bottom of the list).

Still thinking about the "you have subscribed" page... I'll get back with you...

Re: Adding Content to the Access Denied Pages

I can not find anything to target on the "you have subscribed" message! It looks like a canned message generated by the program inserted between the HTML header and footer. Have not totally given up on this part but for right now I am drawing a blank on how to get it done.
