Now..where exactly would I put that "announcement" and I suppose the ONLY way I could check would be to log out and come back in as IE...would it matter what version I have? emoticon

How about as the first thing in your HTML header? emoticon

<!--[if IE]>
<div style="background: #f00; color: #fff; font: bold 25px verdana; text-align: center; line-height: 50px;">
Your browser sucks! Get Firefox!
</div>
<![endif]-->

Then again, the sidebar might be better. emoticon

You don't have to log out to view it in IE. Just open IE and go there. emoticon

My IE is having a lot of trouble accessing web pages, for some reason. It's been doing this on and off.

What do I mean "for some reason?" It's IE! emoticon It was MADE to screw up! emoticon

I'll try again later. I just can't connect it to any site right now.

I may make it smaller and put it on my REAL site towards the bottom of the sideboard! emoticon
So if I wanted to make it smaller overall...
font: bold 25px verdana; text-align: center; line-height: 50px;">
I'd change the font to what? 15 or something? The 50px is for what? The overall height of the box?
And to change from red I'd change the **background: #f00**... emoticon

Right, to change the red, change the hex code in that background. I used a 3-digit hex code, but you could also use a 6-digit one instead, if you're more comfortable with that.

line-height adjusts the spacing between lines. It doesn't measure the bottom of one letter to the top of the next, but more like the space between lines on a sheet of line paper, while the text is typed halfway between the lines instead of on the lines. If everything is on one line and the height of the box isn't defined, then the box's height would end up being the same as the line-height. If there are two lines, then the box would be twice the line-height, etc.

Interestingly enough, I started a blog post about line-height a couple of weeks ago that I never finished yet because I was having trouble explaining it. emoticon Maybe I'll take another stab at it on Sunday.

As for font-size, you'll just have to play around with it and see. 15px is pretty big, but not huge.
