Re: How to mask your forum name

I don't get it. They changed the name, changed the layout, kept the bugs, kept the crap staff... How do they expect to make money?

So you saw the animated horse, huh? I'm glad you liked it! emoticon He laughed when I first posted it, then stuck it right in for his avatar. emoticon

I wish I had saved that post. You don't suppose that board would still have posts from about four or five years ago, do you? Of course not, what am I thinking? That is, unless it was one of the miniscule number of boards that got their content back after the 'incident'.

emoticon You would have to be incredibly lucky to be able to get the post you want out of that Machine, Queeny, it only Archives some posts.

On topic for the moment:

This definitely seems like a handy feature for users who want to branch out a web site to Runboard as their forum host, but for the average user, such as myself, who is also a 100% RB user and would and has never been anywhere else and doesn't plan to get out on my own, I don't see much use for it. But as I said, there are some who do, so congrats on the find! emoticon

And after reading all you two's convo, I am so glad I don't deal with any other host. emoticon RB is far and ahead the best!

Queeny, I found the thread (topic #10093) had been transferred over along with the board, but only the first 7 pages survived the "incident" and that post must have been later.

WayBack Machine is having technical difficulties at the moment. Like Jason said, it doesn't archive every page, but it can't hurt to try again later.

I went to that board for a few different dates and found the thread each time, but it wouldn't show me anything after page 1 of that thread. Oh well, I think your friend already has more incriminating stuff on them than that piddly little comment. emoticon

Oh probably! As they have pages and pages and pages of the stuff. And "the board that shall not be named" incriminated themselves! My friends just publicly documented it all! emoticon

Re: How to mask your forum name

Some of the people at the good site probably learned why they're not supposed to use the same password at different sites. Refresh my memory. Was it private forums that those sleazebags got into using those passwords, or something even worse?

Private forums and even profiles.
They could come in and post as YOU.
They said....NO!! You must have given your password out to someone....BS. emoticon
Have you been to the "disasters" site and read some of the evidence of the "BIG HACK"? (BS, BTW) Or any of the other crap they have pulled??? emoticon

I read a little bit of it a while back, and it all sounded pretty spot on with the way they operate there.
