Yep.....I held down all three at the same time.... emoticon

Oh and this is a really, I MEAN REALLY a cheap laptop! $489.00 total! emoticon
I was just worried that I might have like 'broken links' or something cause your site here does not scroll slowly.
Today I noticed my site and my photobucket were the two worst....

And do ask Pastor if his has cause problems.... emoticon

I've seriously been thinking of using that code you added to my test site. I'm just afraid that I won't be able to change my skins and link colors on my own if I do. emoticon
Cause I don't know what I'm looking at.
And right now with traveling and stuff, I doubt I have time to even change it and make it right....
Perhaps in the Fall when I have many days in a row WITHOUT interruptions emoticon I'll switch it over..... emoticon

I don't have the speed report thing, so it must be an add-on, or something that started with FF3. Same with the validation options, I don't have any of those either.

Pastor Rick checked (Thanks, Rick!) and your board scrolled fine for him. He suggests that your problem might be "a hashed registry entry from the failed first attempt." I'm guessing this is his way of saying a corrupted registry key, in which case a system restore (reverting to a point before you installed FF3 and the latest AVG) might help.

Before you do that, let me ask Rick to make sure that's what he meant. Then again, it probably wouldn't take you long to download and install those two programs again after doing a system restore, that is if you really want the beta version of FF. As long as no other programs were installed after that restore point, AVG will be the only one you'll need to re-install, and the upgrade to FF3 beta is optional. emoticon

Rick says a system restore would work, but you could try cleaning your registry defragging your hard drive to see if that works first.

I did a search for registry cleaners and found a review of Eusing Free Registry Cleaner at PC World...
quote:

Eusing Free Registry Cleaner helps to fix the problem in a simple, two-step process. Tell it to scan your Registry, and it goes through and identifies common problems and junk.

Then tell it to repair the Registry, and it tidies things up. Because changing the Registry can have serious impact on your system, the program lets you first look at the problems it finds, and tell it to only fix some of them. If you get into trouble, the program also lets you revert to the previous version of the Registry.

That page also explains what happens if you don't clean your registry.

If you want to download it, here is Eusing's site. I'm going to try it myself, because my system crashes every once in a while doing everyday things, and always when I try to do a disk cleanup.

Good luck! emoticon

Thank you so much..........BOTH OF YOU!*hugs*

I have saved this information in case it's needed.

But all I had to do was uninstall my newest FIREFOX and reinstall the old version......seems to have worked. Also cleared out my cache, cookies and all private data.....it's back up to speed now... emoticon

Lesa and Rick,

I have also used this registry cleaner and my PC is running 10 times better now, especially at start-up and shutdown and no more freezes either. Thanks a million guys! "looking for the thumbs up smilie" emoticon

I've used the registry cleaner too since then. It cleaned a lot of garbage off my system and sped things up a bit, but it didn't stop my computer from freezing from time to time. One thing that causes freezing is when I view a few YouTube videos in a row without clearing the cache in between videos. Now that I think about it, maybe I just need to lower the size of my cache?

Thanks, guys. Sometimes it just helps to talk it out. emoticon

It is rather strange when you can talk yourself into an answer, isn't it? emoticon

Yep. emoticon Talking/typing it out can help bring focus to the issue at hand. emoticon Unfortunately, reducing my cache size didn't fix the problem. After reducing it, I watched an amazing drum solo and my computer froze 10 seconds before the end of the video.

If you're curious, go to YouTube and search for Derek Roddy (fast?). The question mark must be there because "superhuman" would more accurately describe him. emoticon Oh, and watch it in full-screen mode to get the full effect, and pay special attention about 4:15 into it.

All I can say is.... emoticon
