Suggestion: blank html-sheet
Hey RB-Staff,
I'm 100% sure I already posted this down once, but I think a mean mod here deleted it. This is a suggestion, and I won't forget that I posted this down, so don't delete it again.
The suggestions reads:
On my site, I use some buttons to redirect you to some places. One of these 'places' are the links on my board. I have made a list with all kinds of links, so whenever you press the 'Link-button', you're redirected to that page.
But where do you store that file? I decided it would be best to keep the list in runboard, on my board. How did I solve this? I made a topic, containing these links. But where do you store this topic? In a forum, which really makes it ugle, and quite annoying too! And not to forget that if you open that link section, you actually see that it's a post (So my avatar is shown, sig, praise/smite options, PM-button, etc.)
Now my suggestion is that there should be an option for a blank html-sheet, where you can code away all you want. (You can actually make a homepage then, so you don't start at the forum immediately). You can use the same banner and background, same lay-out as on your forum. Of course, you can create a blank html-sheet on sites like freewebs.com, but I'd like to have a sheet within runboard, moving off to somewhere else is rather annoying. And you can make it look the same as much as you want, but the browers will indicate another link. It should read: http://comX.runboard.com/X
I wonder, is this possible? I know runboard make forums and doesn't provide you with a blank html-sheet (others could abuse it to make a whole website). But maybe you can code something that you're forced to use the same header and banner as the homepage of your forum. Or even install an option that a password is required before you can use that blank html-sheet, so that only reliable admins, who won't abuse the option can benefit from it. Maybe you could even add the option once you're a Premium user, so you actually have paid for it. I mean, 10$ a year isn't that much, but you can also buy other websites for 10$ , and over there, there aren't any restrictions. Of course, here you can start right away, with the easy interface, but it could be a 'motivator' to by Premium stat.
Well, let me know what you think of this.

Re: Suggestion: blank html-sheet
Why don't you just use the idea for the "separate banners for separate forums" to hide the forum and topic links in one forum? You could actually hide the forum itself from the forum listing as well.
If you like the idea, I'll help you after I get some sleep.
BTW, I never saw your other topic. Are you sure you didn't preview, forget you hadn't posted yet, and then leave the page without posting? I think I might have done that myself once, so please don't take that the wrong way.

Why not use a drop-down menu for the links?

Re: Suggestion: blank html-sheet
Yes, I think that will work too. If you could help me with this, I'd be very happy! But remind that I'm already busy with the separate banner idea. I hope this idea doesn't affect the other.
But Pastor, I'm aware of what other options I have. But I'd like to have a blank html-sheet for special things: For instance: We have an Arena, and there is one who's the favourite from the Emperor. I'd like to give that person some respect by making a page with his character's picture and some info. But I don't want this in a topic! But I do want to keep the same header as on my forum and I'd like to have the same lay-out.
Also, like I've said before, I'd like to keep the link in runboard, so you don't move away.
This was completely not meant mean or anything, it's actually explaining why I want this option.
